World of Warcraft might be on its 11th year but its showing no signs of slowing down. Hot on the heels of its Warlords of Draenor expansion, Blizzard is now announcing a sixth expansion to its ultra-popular MMO. Dubbed “Legion”, the expansion will raise the existing level cap from 100 to 110, introduces a Demon Hunter hero class, a new continent on Azeroth called the Broken Isles, and new “artifact weapons”. It’ll also re-introduce two pre-existent characters from the franchise, include nine new dungeons, and two new high-level raids.
Out of all of those cool new features, the one that sticks out is probably the new Demon Hunter hero class. Like the Death Knight before it, the demon hunter will automatically start at a high level and will feature its own story line revolving around Illidan Stomrage, the game’s iconic demon hunter. DH (as fans are calling the new class) will have two specializations: Havoc (DPS) and Vengeance (Tank) and will wear leather armor while utilizing two warblades. The Demon Hunter will only be available to Elf races (at least they’ll all be pretty).
There’s no word on an exact release date just yet but an open beta will be released sometime this year.
