The full-size luxury SUV sets its sights on the Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.
BMW’s latest concept has the automaker tackling the elite luxury SUVs in the segment with its jumbo-sized X7. The Concept X7 iPerformance is a massive, six-seater luxury SUV that teases an upcoming production model that will be powered by BMW’s eDrive technology and a TwinPower Turbo engine to create a capable, plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Much of the focus will be on rider comfort and luxury so expect the cabins to be on par with its rivals. Passengers will be greeted by a spacious interior with a large panoramic glass roof and specific to this concept is a two-tone olive-bronze and smoke white leather, dark-stained open-pore ash, and polished aluminum.
Minimalism has also been a dominating theme of the interior with a more elegant instrument cluster and console that’s accented with backlit crystal elements. The rear seats in the second row feature touchscreen monitors that can assist with entertainment or productivity needs and content can also be shared between displays.
No word yet on when the production X7 will hit showrooms, but expect a full debut sometime in 2018.
